Rate Limits

The API applies rate limits per APIKey and per Endpoint. Rate limits are defined by:

Rate: total number of requests per hour
Quota: total number of requests per 24 hours (per day)

Notes

The API provides information about rate limit usage through response headers: When the rate limit is exceeded, the system returns HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests)

Recommendations

Distribute API calls evenly across time intervals to avoid exceeding rate limits
Cache infrequently changing data on the client side to reduce unnecessary requests
Prioritize using APIs that support bulk data processing in a single call when available
Use WebSocket connections for real-time data to reduce the number of HTTP requests
Implement exponential backoff strategy when receiving a 429 response
Consider aggregating requests during peak usage times
Set up monitoring and alerting for rate limit violations
